Danza Folklorico dance is an art practiced in Mexico. Our mission is to inspire a great love for dance, while inspiring self-confidence, discipline and respect for the individual. We provide a solid technical foundation for the developing dancer. We promote the study of Danza Folklorico as a basis for instilling an awareness of balance, alignment and technique. Our goal is to give each dancer the tools they need to take Danza Folklorico as far as they dream. We believe that if you can dream it, you can achieve it. Our instructors are experts at identifying the specific needs of each student. We believe in an enriching education and recognize that every student has something to offer the arts and the arts have something for every student.
We appreciate that the heart of a dancer is born in many different bodies and the love of Danza Folklorico can take on many different styles. Folklorico is something that students can return to during all stages of their lives.
We will encourage each student to strive daily to achieve their personal best, as well as support each other to foster a sense of teamwork in the classroom.
It is clear that the discipline, focus and artistic enlightenment of folkloric dance creates success in all aspects of life.
Meet The Team
Maritza Recendiz Sanchez
Founder & Dance Instructor
Maritza Recendiz, founder of Danza Folklorico Monarca, has been dancing for over 18 years. She has taken courses from experienced Mexican instructors and has gained a deep understanding of the Mexican folklorico culture. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with people of all ages, helping them to learn and perform the beautiful, vibrant dances with their brightly-colored costumes. Maritza is also dedicated to helping people gain self-confidence through learning and performing these traditional dances. The organization is non-profit, and all proceeds will be used to fund tuition for students who has financial struggles, as well as equipment, clothing, and other necessities.
