Q: What is Danza Folklorico Monarca?
A: Danza Folklórico Monarca is a dance organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Mexican culture through music and dance. We offer classes for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced performers.
Q: What are the requirements to join Danza Folklorico Monarca?
A: We welcome students of all ages to join Danza Folklorico Monarca. We ask that students be coachable, respectful, and ready to learn. No prior dance experience is necessary.
Q: What types of dance does Danza Folklorico Monarca offer?
A: Danza Folklorico Monarca specializes in traditional regional Mexican dance, such as Jalisco, Veracruz, Zacatecas, Michoacán, Sinaloa, Nuevo Leon, and Chihuahua, among others. We also offer classes in contemporary and modern Mexican dance styles.
Q: What do you need to wear in class?
A:
FEMALES​
- Hair pushed back from the face in a ponytail or bun.
- Folklorico shoes with a hard sole
- Folklorico dress rehearsal skirt
- Portable fan
MALES
- Clothing that is easy to move in.
- Keep your hair out of your eyes. (If your hair is long, pul it back).
- A pair of boots with a firm sole. (Folklorico botines)
Additional items (Not immediately needed.)
​- Tambourine with a base.
- Pair of castanets.
Q: How much are classes?
A: Prices vary. Send us a note if you need more information, and we'll be pleased to answer any questions.

Q: What about missed classes?
A:
- There is no make-up for missed classes because this class is only given once a week.
- There will be a makeup session if the instructor cancels the lesson for any reason.
- If you are unable to attend a dancing class, you may always take it through Zoom (need to ask Instructor first).

Q: I've previously danced; how can I be put in a higher dancing level?
A: We have dancing courses for everyone, from beginners to advanced. We may place your dancer in the appropriate dancing class once we have assessed their skills. Please keep in mind that the ultimate decision on your right placement is made by the Dance Instructor.
